Malcolm P. Appelbaum

Malcolm Appelbaum is a consultant and senior financial manager. He primarily assists distressed middle market companies in managing through constrained liquidity and returning to profitability.  He has an extensive background in helping businesses achieve their financial objectives through financial management, restructurings, strategic planning, capital raising and acquisition and divestitures. Prior to founding AppleTree, Mr. Appelbaum was a Principal of Wand Partners, a $500 million private equity firm. At Wand he developed an investment practice in the direct marketing industry. Mr. Appelbaum acquired platform businesses, made add-on acquisitions and growth capital investments. He also served as Wand's financial officer and acted as an interim manager for Wand portfolio companies.

Prior to that Mr. Appelbaum was an associate in the real estate group of M&T Bank a financial analyst with Goldman, Sachs & Co. and a senior consultant with Deloitte & Touche.

Mr. Appelbaum holds an MBA from Columbia University School of Business, a BS in Accounting from Brooklyn College and a CPA license from New York State.

Paul Fratamico

Paul Fratamico is a management consultant and financial analyst with expertise in financial management, private equity and investment banking.  He specializes in financial restructuring, working capital management and business and financial planning.  Most recently, Mr. Fratamico served as a financial advisor to a distressed financial services firm. In another recent assignment he provided working capital management for an insurance services business. Previously, Mr. Fratamico spent five years in private equity at CDG Partners and JP Morgan Partners where he acquired and supported portfolio companies.  Prior to that he was an analyst at Hambrecht & Quist. 

Mr. Fratamico holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and a BA from Villanova University.

Michael Creaney

Michael Creaney is a director of finance, a financial consultant and a manager of internal audit with experience in planning and analysis, budgeting and reporting and financial projects.  He most recently served as director of budgeting and forecasting for Atkins Nutritionals where he developed annual and long range plans, established policies and procedures and assisted in growing the Company to $200 million in sales.  Previously, he spent 20 years at Joseph E. Seagram & Sons as director of finance at Global Duty Free, manager of international audit and director of special projects in the spirits and wine group.

Mr. Creaney has a BS in accounting from Marist College and is a certified fraud examiner.
